DIY Bottle Gift Wrapping
This simple step-by-step guide will show you how to wrap a bottle beautifully with a custom DIY gift bag.
Ingredients
- Thick good-quality wrapping paper
- Sticky tape
- Double-sided tape
- Stapler
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- Christmas greenery from the garden
- Artificial Christmas berries
Instructions
Prepare the Wrapping Paper
- Lay out the wrapping paper face down.
- Place the bottle in the center.
- Ensure there’s enough paper on each side to wrap around the bottle and about 10 cm extra on the top and bottom.
- Cut the paper to size.
Wrap the Bottle
- Fold the paper edges toward the middle so they slightly overlap.
- Secure with tape.
- Remove the bottle and press down to create firm creases along the edges.
Create the Base
- Fold the lower half of the paper up to create the base.
- Open the folded portion by placing your fingers in the middle (close to the seam) and slowly pulling the top portion back., forming a diamond shape.
- Flatten the diamond and fold the top and bottom points to meet in the centre.
- Secure with tape.
- Insert a piece of cardboard at the bottom for added support.
Insert the Bottle & Seal the Top
- Place the bottle inside the bag.
- Start folding the top in an accordion style (about 6 folds).
- Lift the pleats into a fan shape and secure with double-sided tape or a staple.
Decorate
- Wrap a ribbon around the bag.
- Add greenery and artificial berries for a festive touch.
