German Frikadellen (Meatballs)
Ingredients
- 1 60g / 2 oz stale bread roll or bread cubed
- 240 ml / 1 cup milk
- 1 medium onion finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves crushed
- 1 large egg
- 4 tbsp / 16 g / .56 oz chopped fresh parsley
- 750 g / 1.6 lbs ground beef
- 1 heaped teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon each of pepper and paprika
- Flour for coating
- Sunflower oil for frying

Soak the Bread Roll:
- Cut the stale roll into small cubes and soak in the milk until soft. Remove the bread and squeeze out the excess milk using a sieve. Discard the milk.
