Ingredients
  

  • 200 g / 7 oz salted butter
  • 200 g / 7 oz chocolate
  • 3 cups / 600g / 21 oz sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 2 cups / 240g / 8.5 oz cake flour 240g / 8.5 oz
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder 25g / 0.9 oz
  • 200 g / 7 oz pecan nuts
  • Chocolate for drizzling
  • Chocolate and cookies for decorating

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Spray a roasting tin with non-stick spray and line it with baking paper.
  • Melt the butter and chocolate over low heat in a large pot.

  • Once melted, remove from the heat and stir in the sugar. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes.

  • Gently fold in the flour, cocoa powder and pecan nuts until fully combined.

  • Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and bake for approximately 40 minutes.

  • Check with a cake tester; brownies should still be slightly gooey. You will want to see some moist crumbs attached to the cake tester when you pull it back out. If it looks like it's covered in brownie batter, the brownies will need to bake a bit longer.
  • Let the brownies cool and then cut them into 12 pieces.
